A Spot of Inspiration

Here at PGAV, we’ve got a group of extremely talented people who love to give back. Whether it’s coaching sports teams, running up stairs to fight lung cancer, or volunteering for design organizations, we’re a team of people heavily involved in the community. We are lucky enough to employ some of the leaders in the St. Louis design community and we just recently finished meeting some awesome up-and-coming talent at college career days.

One of the simplest ways we love to give back is through office tours. When we hear a student (whether it be a girl scout or college graduate) is coming to tour the office, many of us, myself included, get very excited to talk with them.

It’s really simple – here at PGAV, we love what we do. Imagine trying to tell an eighteen-year-old all of the reasons you love coming to work in a meager fifteen-minute window. It’s near impossible. Getting to talk about what we do here at PGAV and (sometimes equally as important) getting to hear your respected creative peers explain what they do here in this square-mile office and WHY it matters to them is pretty amazing. Seeing how excited students are about the design world energizes many of us on a constant basis. Speaking with these students reminds us how important it is to keep new ideas and new attitudes fresh in our open-concept office.

As May comes to an end, we’d like to congratulate the graduates in the profession and hope to inspire all you cap-throwing, job-searching, talented individuals to reach out to us. There’s roughly a week left for students to apply for our Spot Experiential Scholarship and we want you or your favorite college student to enter.

We can’t wait to see your entries and enthusiasm shine through for your chance to win a trip for two to either the Space Shuttle Atlantis, Georgia Aquarium, Discovery Cove, or the Biltmore Estate. We know you’ll make us laugh, make us go “woah!”, or make us wonder how you did what you did; but most importantly, we know you’ll give us a glimpse into what makes YOU love what you do.
